Australia's Greatest Biscuit

Make your case for Australia's Greatest Biscuit. Even if it's your mum's Anzac cookie.

Okay, so here we are. Australia's Greatest Biscuit. For my money, I think it's the Mint Slice. Perfect with a cup of tea. It impresses your in laws and your teenaged kids. It's the dapper chap of the biscuit world. The thinking man's biscuit. The Mint Slice. I love it. Do you?

The mint slice sucks.

You suck. I bet you like Kingstons.

I like pillow biscuits

Oh man you like Pillow biscuits?!!We are no longer friends. Actualy, I think I remember your mum offering those things to me when I came over after school. That's why you had no friends. Except me, and I only came over to play your Atari.

Oh god, I thought you wrote 'pillow biters', that threw me. I am super tired though.

I voted for the scotch finger but had the Bush Biscuit been there I may well have gone for that...

Your birthday party wasn't great actually disko, loser. It was me and Jas sitting around for an hour and then a quick chat with Bel and Bec before I faded...

Mint slice my ass...that's American. It's the fucking Tim Tam. You fucking Australians don't even know when you have a good thing. You need to lose it to the overseas market before you can claim it back as Okay Aussie.

It's the same thing with records. Prince would release Kiss, and that wouldn't do well here...but the B side would shoot to the moon. 'Fucking Ada' to steal a phrase from the Paul Fenton phrase book.

Oley, you're way off pal. The Mint Slice is the future. I've tasted it. The Tim Tam is the Tiffany of the biscuit world. Mass produced. Appealing to teenaged girls. The Mint Slice is a thinking man's biscuit. They eat the Mint Slice at Yale you know.

If i was you always go for` the Rich Tea. lovely dunking biscuit, but also nice with a bit of butter and if you like a slice of cjeese. But my all time fave UK biscuit is the Hovis biscuit. Like the Rich Tea butter and cheese is optional.
As for Aussie biscuits it has to be the Tim Tam or the Iced Volvo or the Iced Vulva as I like to call it, cos that's what it reminds me of.

why didn't you have tic tocs on there, or squiggle
tops, they rock

Jaime Diskin said...

Tic Tocks are possibly the worst biscuit outside the Pillow and the Payless Custard Cream. I don't know about Squiggle Tops? Were they a Adelaide thing?

Iced vo-vo. By the way, whoever invented the pillow biscuit should be tortured to death. Placed in a blender with the inventor of predictive txt, perhaps.
